What has Darrell Issa done to stop the genocide in Gaza?

Questions for Rep. Darrell Issa About Gaza

This morning, I read that Israel struck a high-rise building in Gaza City (PBS). As an American who’s been alive for a minute, I remember what we call people who attack tall buildings.

This comes in the context of the Israeli military stepping up operations aimed at seizing control of the city of one million Palestinians — many of whom are experiencing famine.

It reminded me that last month, Lebanese media reported that during Rep. Darrell Issa’s CODEL in Beirut, he revealed that “he would travel to Egypt for talks on Gaza, particularly regarding humanitarian aid,” and noted that “U.S. President Donald Trump had announced humanitarian assistance for Gaza.”

Yet Issa has never said a peep about these talks on Gaza back in the U.S. I have questions:

  • Did Issa have secret talks with Israel?
  • Did Issa tell Israel it’s okay to bomb high-rise buildings?
  • Did Issa tell Israel that genocide is okay with him?
  • Did Issa tell Israel that aid to starving kids isn’t necessary?
(In the context of Issa voting to cut SNAP benefits in the U.S., we can guess his answer.)
  • What has Issa done to stop the genocide in Gaza?

I ask these questions, in part, because I cannot find any time since October 7, 2023, when Issa expressed even the mildest concern for the Palestinian people — and he’s certainly not condemned Israel’s nearly two years of atrocities.

In the meantime, AIPAC Tracker shows that Issa’s campaign has accepted at least $93,000 in pro-genocide money from AIPAC. So there’s that.

We need members of Congress who are not afraid of Israel or its pro-genocide lobby.
