State Department Responds to Curtis Morrison’s Partial Court Victory
As noted yesterday (previous post), CA-48 candidate and attorney Curtis Morrison received significant press coverage this week following a partial court victory against the Trump administration.
But here’s something new: the Trump administration has now weighed in with a statement from State Department Principal Deputy Spokesman Tommy Pigott:
“Another example of wrongful judicial overreach aimed at curtailing this Administration’s strong and unwavering efforts to keep Americans and our communities safe.”
“We will continue to relentlessly work to ensure the president of the United States is able to use every tool he has available, including visas, to finally bring oversight to who we allow to visit our country,” Pigott said.
Pigott’s statement displays his ignorance, as this order does not impact visitor visas at all. The Thein v. Trump plaintiffs are immigrant visa applicants.
